Central NJ is close to many NYC and Philadelphia cultural arts destinations. It is a densely populated state with people with many cultures, customs and interests. Some people joke ‘what exit are you?’ when asking what part of the state you are in because there is the NJ TPKE and the Garden State Parkway running through it but most of the state can get to the mountains, farmlands and the ocean in an hour or 2 as well as a few metropolitan areas.
A few sometimes unexpected trips took me to Magic Gardens in Philadelphia, Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, PA, Happy Day Farm in Manalapan, NJ to experience a field of sunflowers. Cultural arts can be experienced in many, varied places. In my Art Where You Are page, I explore others. Links are included in case you were looking to explore an idea – go with friends, family, school or go alone.
When I get a chance, I’ll write a bit more about them and some local museums I appreciate … like the Princeton University Art Museum (sometimes offer free online classes) & The Met, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Yes, there are many other museums in NYC and Philadelphia plus Williamsburg, VA etc.
Here is a link to another page, Art Where You Are of places to visit for inspiration. I’m hoping you have conferences and events close to, and you can visit.
