If you are in grade school there are opportunities to seek out for sharing your art or writing. Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is fantastic.
I am fortunate that years ago my English teacher, Mrs. Grimaldi, made her students aware.

Your school does not have to participate (schoolwide) for you to enter. Also, you can put yourself on Scholastic’s mailing list so you can get updates and deadlines for applying (for your category of art or writing) on your calendar. I believe you also need to ask a teacher to sign your entry but you can check the rules on that.
My photo above, “Creature” won a Silver Key and my animation “Whoa!” earned an honorable mention.
I also submitted poems and they received Honorable Mentions as well:
